Some highlights of Bayonne
City was small enough to not get lost. Wandering the mostly pedestrian only lanes and streets introduced us to the strong Basque cultural. The Basque people are truly a nation without a country.
Meanwhile, my hairy friend was my highlight. He would slowly stand, then slowly inch his toward me... but his master would catch him before making it to my table. After the fourth attempt, he was moved to the other side of the table. Heck, I would have shared.
First day in First city
Bayonne was a jewel. Had not really known what to expect, other than a base for day trips and our Tour start. Read it is an "anchor in the Basque Country. River Nive divides the Old Town in two, the Grand and Petit Bayonne, it is a fun wander day or night.
Intros made, Buddies checked, and off we went.
During our time we visited the Cathedrale Ste. Maire, Musee Basque, and ate and drank very well.

Short movie from first tour day. With Bonus: This was Bastille Day, a national celebration, with fireworks on the river
