About Me & a bit About Us

Retired: Unversity of Nevada, Reno
Wow, it is so good to be retired - where else would I find the time. This tour was my Fifth Tour with Rick Steves' Europe and my Sixth is already scheduled.
Why this Tour? The University of Nevada, Reno, from where I am retired, has a Center for Basque Studies, offers a PhD. in Basque Studies and is the premier research instituion in all things Basque. I wanted to learn more experientially. Okay, I knew about the quality of food and wine....
Our group, as you see below, was unusually small, but the Best Eleven going.
Despite being even less than half the size of a "regular" Rick Steves' Tour - -(which is about half the size of those 'other' tour operators) we still came with a broad spectum of backgrounds and expectations. This was an excellent learning environment.
Two lawyers, two teachers, a Veterinarian, a recent PhD student, retired research scientist, university library staff, uh, a couple others, and Me. Or, Four solo women, one set Parents and daughter, one married couple and a cousion, and me. Ages of the group? No Way... 8 women and only 3 men, not a chance I'd list, even if I knew.... But, best of All our Guide:
Federico Garcia Barroso. Watch my videos and listen to him sing. He is a passoniate teacher and enjoys what he does.
Prior to the Basque Country, I've totally enjoyed RIck Steves' Heart of Italy, Venice Florence & Rome, Barcelona & Madrid, and the Best of Scandanvia.
Next up is Berlin, Prague, and Vienna in June 2014.
Group just arrived in San Sebastian, northern coast of Spain at water's edge of the Bay of Biscay
Group at Urki Taxakolina (Winery) along our way to Guernica and on to Bilbao
Don't forget your
Passport or License
Just in case
As Ricky Nelson sang:
"I'm a travelin' man I've made a lot of stops all over the world."
I got many more to make !!!
